Zeineb Grissa

Zeineb Grissa joined the Alalakh excavations team in 2024, working on Middle Bronze Age faunal remains from both Tell Atchana and Toprakhisar Höyük. She received her BA in Archaeology in Tunisia in 2021 and completed her MSc in Archaeometry at Middle East Technical University in January 2025. Her Master’s thesis, Middle Bronze Age Animal-Based Subsistence at Toprakhisar Höyük and Tell Atchana: A Zooarchaeological Study , was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evangelia Pişkin. As a research intern in METU’s Environmental Archaeology Research Unit, she contributed to the preparation of modern reference collections and conducted osteometric analysis for genus differentiation. Her research interests include Zooarchaeology, Taphonomy, and Experimental Archaeology.
