SEREN BURGAÇ

Seren Burgaç has been a team member of the Tell Atchana, Alalakh Excavations Project since 2017. She manages the processing of archaeobotanical remains throughout the field season. In 2015, she completed her BA degree in the Department of Archaeology at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. She is currently an MA student at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. Before she started her MA education, she joined the Environmental Archaeology and Archaeobotany Training at Koç University, ANAMED. Her research involves the archaeobotanical world of the Levant, and she focuses on the plant world and the relation between ancient people and plants throughout the Bronze Age. Her MA research focuses on the archaeobotanical data from a Middle Bronze II palatial kitchen context in at Tell Atchana and a contextual analysis of the data. Her interests include environmental archaeology, ancient food-ways, vegetation history, gender archaeology, and photography.
